As Senior Associate at rpk GROUP, Mike Daly assists rpk’s clients in analyzing their academic portfolios and evaluating how these contribute to a sustainable business model. The best practices identified through this work also inform rpk’s external research and engagement initiatives. Recently, Mike has supported efforts aimed at restructuring academic portfolios based on market demand, improving faculty workload policies and operational efficiencies, and optimizing campus size to align with institutional needs.
Mike has dedicated over twelve years to advancing sustainable student success. Before joining rpk GROUP in 2021, Mike was the Director of Operations for SUNY OER Services, a shared service initiative supporting SUNY campuses, faculty, and students in the widespread implementation of open educational resources (OER). In addition to managing operations, he coordinated SUNY’s strategic OER partnerships, with the aim of enhancing student achievement and empowering faculty to innovate in pedagogy. Mike previously served ten years as Instruction/Public Services Librarian and Assistant Professor at Fulton-Montgomery Community College (SUNY), where he secured and led significant grants in learning technology and established a comprehensive campus-wide OER program. He also held key leadership positions within campus and state governance, including chairing the Faculty Senate.
Mike holds an MSIS from the University at Albany (SUNY) and a BA from Union College (NY).
When not thinking about higher education, Mike can be found, in no particular order, chasing his kids around the house and his hound dogs through the woods in upstate New York.
