David L. Miller joined the UT System in January 2017 and is the Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for financial operations statewide, including developing financial and operational strategies and metrics. As a board-elected officer, he assists the President in the management of the University system and other specific duties prescribed by the Board of Trustees. The Office of the SVP & CFO includes the treasurer, controller, financial administration, investment management, information technology, human resources, and capital projects.

 

Miller joined The University of Tennessee System following 20 years of service in the University of Wisconsin System. Miller began his professional career in Washington, DC, in law, government, and public education. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He resides in Knoxville with his wife, Nancy and two daughters.
