
Greg King serves as Georgia Tech’s Associate Vice President for Economic Development where he leads strategic external relations with industry and government to support economic growth in Georgia. He fosters partnerships and mobilizes campus programs to help expand strategic industry sectors across the state.
Greg also provides leadership and guidance for economic development initiatives and programs to enhance the impact of Technology Square, Science Square, and other innovation districts associated with Georgia Tech. He works to establish innovation and R&D operations on-site and activate these hubs as communities of innovation. His efforts create place-based approaches that bring together higher education and industry, fostering innovation and generating economic impact.
With deep experience in public-private partnerships and technology-based economic development, Greg previously held a joint appointment as Assistant Vice Chancellor with the University System of Georgia. As an officer in the United States Navy, he served in a variety of executive, staff, and operational leadership assignments worldwide.
Greg holds a BS in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech and an MA in Economics from the University of Oklahoma. He is a certified economic developer (CEcD), a Fulbright alumnus, and an active leader in national associations focused on innovation, placemaking, and economic development.
